They have each lunch table (assigned) weigh their waste at the end of the lunch period and then track over the weeks and the months.  The tables which show the biggest decrease in waste and those who have the lowest overall waste win a contest (don't know that there's an actual prize, but the recognition gets the kids interested). I think they're doing a great thing by just getting the kids to think before they throw. Thanks for the tips.
